The German Institute for Humour

The German Institute for Humour was founded by Eva Ullmann in 2005. Along the way, she found inspiration in the study of medicine and pedagogy, doing improv-theatre and working with hospital clowns, comedians and coaches. Slowly, the institute grew to include active and passionate coaches, efficient office managers, industrious researchers and creative artists.

The institute is committed, active and always keen to bring humour into different areas of life and work life. Currently we’re supporting school kids in their process of growing up by organizing theatre projects and helping physicians in hospitals to find the right dose of humour. Another of our projects focuses on the investigation of children’s humour.
